The prayer must be conducted while facing towards the Kaaba within Mecca. You are usually required to stand, bend and bow before God while you recite from the Quran.

Praying is a central pillar of Islamic faith. It's a method for one to be thankful and remember God for the many blessings he has provided you. Health, home with family members, friends, food, and comfortable living.

For many Muslims praying is seen as an act of nourishment. The same way, our body requires nutrition several times throughout the day to remain energetic and strong. Muslims have a habit of praying as a means of spiritual nutrition.

In the days before prayer, Muslims have to physically cleanse themselves using water. They cleanse their hands, arms face, hands, and other parts of their bodies. This cleansing also acts as a way of washing your sins. You should wash your mouth in case you said something you shouldn't have, wash your eyes when you see something that you shouldn't or your feet if wandered into a space you shouldn't be , and you can go on and on.

The prayer is composed of 'cycles' which are referred to as rakaat. Morning prayers, by example, are the shortest ones having only two rakaat. the prayers for sunset are made out of three rakaat as the noon, afternoon and evening prayers are made up with four of them. Each prayer is composed of specific prayers and movements.

Prayer is one of the main practice of a Muslim's daily life and one of the most significant fundamentals. While we are only required to fast one month in the year We offer Zakah one time throughout the year, Hajj is only required for a single time, but prayer is a habitual act which must be practiced daily five times.

It can bring discipline and organization to the day . It also provides the most effective form of meditation in the hectic life that we lead.

Adhan A call to pray

The call to prayer for the public is called Adhan. The Adhan is announced from the mosque by a muezzin who is the masjid's primary prayer caller. When the prayer is called the muezzin recites the following Takbir (glorification and praise to God) "Allahu akbar" in Arabic, meaning "Allah is the greatest".

The complete call to prayer is as the following:

Allahu Akbar (God is great)

Ashhadu an la Ilaha Illallah (I am a witness that there isn't a God apart from the God of the One God)

Ashadu Anna Muhammadar Rasool Allah (I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God)

Hayya' Ala-s Salah (Hurry into the prayers or stand up to pray)

Hayya"ala-l-Falah (Hurry to succeed, or rise up to find salvation)

Assalatu khairum-minan-naum (Prayer is better than sleeping. It's only for prayers in the morning.)

Allahu Akbar (God is Great)

La Ilaha Illallah (There there isn't any God except the One God)
